Diffusion Pump Oil

Diffusion Pump Oil is a specialized type of oil used in diffusion pumps, which are high- vacuum pumps commonly used in scientific and industrial applications. Diffusion pump oil has unique properties that enable it to achieve high vacuum levels by creating a molecular flow of gas within the pump. Diffusion Pump Oil has a low vapor pressure, high molecular weight and high boiling point, that allows it to vaporize at high temperatures and efficiently capture and pump out gas molecules from the vacuum chamber. This oil is typically composed of silicone- based or hydrocarbon- based oils, specifically formulated to tolerate the high temperatures and harsh chemical environments within diffusion pumps.
